Ukraine Grain Ambassador Talks Food Initiative, Russia-Africa Relations
The “Grain From Ukraine” humanitarian program launched in 2022 by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy aims to deliver grain to African and Asian nations facing extreme hunger. Christopher Fomunyoh, regional director for Central and West Africa at National Democratic Institute (NDI), was appointed goodwill ambassador for the program. VOA’s Mohamadou Houmfa spoke to Fomunyoh about the program, grain exports through the Black Sea, and some African nations’ neutral stance on the conflict in Ukraine.
