It’s Game Time! Basketball Like You’ve Never Seen!
The Basketball Africa League (BAL) 🏀 Season 3 will tip off on Saturday, March 11.
Here is everything you need to know about this year's edition.
- The BAL will feature 12 African club teams competing in 38 games in Senegal🇸🇳, Egypt 🇪🇬 and Rwanda🇷🇼.
- The 12 teams are divided into two conferences: the Sahara Conference and the Nile Conference.
- The Sahara Conference’s group phase will be played at the Dakar Arena from March 11-21, and the Nile Conference’s group phase will take place at Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Cairo from April 26-May 6.
- Sahara Conference: ABC Fighters (Ivory Coast)🇨🇮, AS Douanes (Senegal)🇸🇳, Kwara Falcons (Nigeria)🇳🇬 , REG (Rwanda) 🇷🇼, Stade Malien (Mali)🇲🇱, US Monastir (Tunisia) 🇹🇳.
- Nile Conference: Al Ahly (Egypt)🇪🇬, Cape Town Tigers (South Africa)🇿🇦, CFV Beira (Mozambique)🇲🇿, City Oilers (Uganda)🇺🇬, Petro de Luanda (Angola)🇦🇴, SLAC (Guinea)🇬🇳.
- Only four teams qualified from each conference will head to the BAL Playoffs and Finals, which will feature a single-elimination tournament at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda🇷🇼 from May 21-27.
- Five teams will make their debut in the BAL this season, including Abidjan Basket Club (Ivory Coast)🇨🇮, Al Ahly (Egypt)🇪🇬, City Oilers (Uganda)🇺🇬, Kwara Falcons (Nigeria) 🇳🇬 and Stade Malien (Mali)🇲🇱.
