The effects of fatherlessness

On Sunday, many countries will celebrate Father's Day – a day honoring fathers and father figures. But what is the impact on someone who does not have one? Nafuna Namisoo is a journalist and community work organizer in Nairobi who grew up without a father, and clinical psychologist Juliet Muthoni in Nairobi conducted research on how absent fathers affect younger women's choices. Both spoke with VOA intern reporter Brian Itava from Nairobi, Kenya. Brian started by asking Nafuna her thoughts on Father's Day.
