The International Crisis Group says South Sudan faces an economic meltdown because of the war in neighboring Sudan. The Crisis Group is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to preventing conflicts. In its latest report, the group says Sudan’s civil war has severely disrupted South Sudan’s oil exports thereby depriving the country of much needed petrodollars, the country’s main source of revenue. South Sudan sells its oil from a terminal in Port Sudan. Daniel Akech, Crisis Group’s senior analyst for South Sudan, talks to VOA’s James Butty, about the impact of South Sudan’s inability to sell its oil.
