Protesters in DRC Urge Pope to Address Sexual Abuse
Protesters gathered outside the Cathedral of Notre Damme in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s capital, Kinshasa, on Thursday, calling on Pope Francis to enforce laws criminalizing sexual abuse in the Catholic Church. Demonstrators held banners demanding the pope meet with victims of sexual abuse by the clergy.
