Nigerian Athlete Talks BAL, US College Basketball & More
Nigerian basketball player Reuben Chinyelu, rated among the top players in the Basketball Africa League (BAL), is currently playing in his second season in the NBA sponsored league. The 19-year-old West African athlete is representing Mali’s Stade Malien, who finished top of the Sahara Conference and qualified for the playoffs tipping off in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali, in May. For more, VOA’s Muqbil Yabarow had an exclusive interview with Chinyelu discussing his experience at BAL and recruitment to play U.S. college basketball.
