Delegates: Loss and Damage Fund Biggest COP28 Takeaway for Africa

For some African delegates at the just-ended COP28 climate summit in Dubai, the agreement to establish a Loss-and-Damage Fund has been seen as the biggest advancement at this year’s edition. The fund would commit richer countries, whose burning of fossil fuels has contributed the most to global warming, to compensate poorer regions including Africa, for destruction from climate change.
