Pro-democracy and human rights groups in Nigeria are calling for the trial of former military strongman Gen. Ibrahim Babangida. This, after he admitted in his bombshell memoir that the controversial election of June 12, 1993, was won by businessman Moshood Abiola. Abiola died in custody after declaring himself president, sparking widespread countrywide riots that killed dozens.
