A Nigerian analyst says the landmark court case in London against oil giant Shell and its Nigerian subsidiary for decades of alleged oil spills in the Niger Delta is an attempt by the affected communities to seek justice. Shell, however, says most spills were caused by illegal third-party interference, such as pipeline sabotage and theft, which is rife in the region.
