MOZAMBIQUE - INAUGURATION & PROTEST (1).mp3
Mozambique opposition presidential candidate Venancio Mondlane has called for three days of protest and a national strike this week. Parliament is set to convene Monday and the inauguration of President-elect Daniel Chapo is set for Wednesday. Mondlane led deadly protests after the October election. Adriano Nuvunga, who chairs the Mozambique Human Rights Defenders Network, tells VOA’s James Butty the protest call is in keeping with Mondlane’s demand to throw out election results.
