Analysis: Former Central Darfur State Governor on Sudanese war
A reported released for peer review by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine's Sudan Research Group suggests the death toll in Sudan is much higher than previously recorded. While killings previously had made up most deaths in the country, researchers now point to starvation and disease as the main contributors. With no end in sight to the now 14-month conflict, many Sudanese have chosen to escape the violence. VOA’s Vincent Makori spoke to Adeeb Yousif, the former Governor of Central Darfur State, on how he sees the conflict progressing and if there is any hope for peace within his region.
