Congolese-born tech professional competes in US council elections
Aside from the selecting the next president of the United States, the 2024 elections also include other national, state and local elections. In Fairfax City, in the eastern state of Virginia, there are six open council seats with 11 candidates competing. Amini Bonane, a civic technology professional who was born in Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is one of them. VOA’s Philip Alexiou spoke to her about her political aspirations.
