Political re-alignment begins ahead of Senegal’s legislative poll
Senegal is undergoing a political re-alignment as the country prepares for an instant legislative election on November 17. The parties of former Presidents Macky Sall and Abdoulaye Wade announced Monday that they have formed a coalition. The two parties – the Alliance for the Republic party and the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) -- already have 106 of the 165 seats in the national parliament. Senegalese political analyst Ibrahima Kane tells VOA’s James Butty, the re-alignment could pose a problem to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s ruling Pastef party getting a majority in November
