Uneasy calm in Guinea as pro-democracy strike shuts down capital
Guinea’s capital, Conakry, was said to be quiet on Tuesday following Monday’s sit-down strike to pressure the military junta to honor its promise of returning the country to democratic rule by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Reuters reported Monday that Guinea’s National Transition Council had published online the country’s draft constitution.
