Nigerian groups demand an investigation into excessive violence during recent protests

A coalition of lawyers and civil society groups is calling for an independent investigation and prosecution of security officers accused of using excessive force during the "endbadgovernance" protests. Attorney Samuel Ihensekhien, a prominent Nigerian human rights lawyer, told VOA's Peter Clottey that he condemns the use of excessive force by the police against protesters who were lawfully demonstrating.
