A citizens’ group in Gambia wants foreign minister disqualified in upcoming elections

A group called Concerned Gambians and Commonwealth Citizens has filed a petition to disqualify Gambian foreign minister Mamadou Tangara from becoming the next Commonwealth Secretary General. Madi Jobarteh, a human rights defender and spokesperson for the group, tells VOA’s Peter Clottey that the decision makers in the commonwealth should reject Tangara's candidacy.
