South Africa’s opposition lawmakers take seats in parliament
In South Africa, 58 selected parliamentarians from the opposition Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party are scheduled to be sworn in on Tuesday. The party had vowed to boycott the legislature at the first sitting of parliamentarians in the national assembly on June 14. Moloto Mothapo, the spokesperson for the South African parliament told VOA’s Peter Clottey, the installation of the MK lawmakers will be presided over by the chief justice and the speaker of parliament.
