Kenya is preparing to deploy 1,000 police officers to Haiti to help restore security and peace in the country. However, Kenya’s High Court ruled earlier this year that only members of the Kenya Defense Forces can be deployed outside the country to keep the peace. There were reports last week that the government was ready to deploy the first group of 200 police officers. But last week, Ekuru Aukot asked the court to hold the Kenyan government in contempt.
