Leaders Express Optimism on US Debt Ceiling Divide
U.S. leaders are expressing optimism about reaching an agreement to lift the country’s debt ceiling before the government runs out of money to pay its bills. Despite days of talks, though, Democrats and Republicans remain divided on future government spending. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke with Paul Nantulya, research specialist at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies, on implications of a U.S. government default for Africa.
