Senegal's capital Dakar witnessed clashes Thursday between police and supporters of prominent opposition leader Ousmane Sonko facing trial for allegedly defaming a minister. Law enforcement officers fired tear gas at protestors to block them from accompanying Sonko’s motorcade to the courthouse.
