Lawmakers in Uganda have introduced a bill imposing tough penalties on those who engage in same-sex relations and identify as members of the LGBTQ community. The bill recently proposed in parliament would violate freedom of expression, association and non-discrimination, according to Human Rights Watch. Homosexuality is already illegal in Uganda, but critics say the new measure, if adopted, would allow for further discrimination on the basis of sexuality. VOA's Peter Clottey spoke to Oryem Nyeko, Human Rights Watch researcher.
