Kenyan LGBTQ rights organizations are hailing a recent decision by the East African nation’s Supreme Court that paved way to the registration of an association protecting gay rights. Despite the Supreme Court ruling, President William Ruto’s administration still deems homosexual relations illegal and has lawmakers pushing for a bill to increase the maximum punishment for those found guilty to life in prison.
