French President Macron's Four-Nation African Tour: Analysis
French President Emmanuel Macron has returned to France after making stops in Gabon, Angola, the Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where he pledged 34 million euros ($36 million) as part of a European Union aid package to conflict-hit eastern DRC. On the final stop of his four-nation African tour, Macron said in Kinshasa any party seeking to derail peace efforts should face sanctions. Africa 54 host Esther Githui Ewart spoke with Bagassi Toure, chief of VOA's Bambara Service, for insight into the trip.
