On Daybreak Africa: Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera Thursday fired the national director of public prosecution, Steven Kayuni for allegedly abusing his office to avenge what the Southern African nations leader saw as a personal grudge. Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo say they stand by sentiments echoed by President Felix Tshisekedi who earlier this week said peace in the eastern region of his nation rests with Rwanda after accusing President Paul Kagame’s administration of supporting M23 rebels who are operating in the region and have allegedly reneged on a promise to withdraw its militia from captured areas.
