US House of Representatives Fails to Elect Speaker
With around 20 dissenting Republicans opposing California Congressman Kevin McCarthy, the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday failed to elect a speaker after six rounds of voting which began Tuesday. Voting is set to continue Wednesday night after yet another adjournment. VOA's Vincent Makori spoke with VOA congressional correspondent Katherine Gypson for more insight.
