Sierra Leone Minister: Country's Commitment to Education is Yielding Results
Sierra Leone is leaving no one behind in its quest to educate the nation, says David Sengeh, the country's minister of basic and senior secondary education. Speaking with VOA's Peter Clottey on the sidelines of the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington recently, Sengeh said evidence of progress includes closing the gender gap with more girls enrolled in four years, increased recruitment, retention and training of teachers, as well as improved curriculum.
