Inspired by the death of his loved ones and his struggles growing up in the Mathare slum in Nairobi, Jack Owuor founded the Transfers Initiative to assist women from the Kenyan slum. A youth-led organization, Transfer Initiative empowers women with basic survival skills using innovative technology. Owuor spoke to Africa 54 technology correspondent Paul Ndiho on his hopes for the initiative and the impact that it has already had on African women.
