Nationwide protest against harsh economic conditions begins in Malawi

The Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives, a Malawi civil society group, is organizing a nationwide protest beginning Monday against the challenging economic conditions in the southeastern African nation. Sylvester Namiwa, the executive director of the organization, tells VOA’s Peter Clottey that the government has not been able to resolve the challenges facing the country despite repeated promises.
