Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema promises to reach out to his predecessor for peace talks to help ease political tensions in the country. But reacting to the president's olive branch gesture, Raphael Nakacinda, the general secretary of the main opposition party, the Patriotic Front, tells VOA's Peter Clottey that Hichilema's pledge to reach out to former president Lungu for peace talks is not convincing.
