Political analyst Douglas Yates tells VOA’s Peter Clottey that a letter from former Gabon president Ali Bongo Ondimba announcing his intention to step down from active politics may be a little too late. Yates says the deposed president should have stepped down and handed over power after he suffered a stroke in 2018.
