Zambian minister defends petitions against former President Lungu
Zambia’s information minister says every citizen has the right to petition the courts for redress despite their political affiliation. Some Zambians have done just that to challenge the eligibility of former President Edgar Lungu to participate in the 2026 election. Lungu accused the petitioners of being surrogates of the ruling United Party for National Development (UNDP).
