WHO: Malaria remains a serious threat in Africa
The World Health Organization says malaria remains a serious threat in Africa, with 95 percent of deaths occurring in the region. This year’s WHO World Malaria Report shows that people from low- and middle-income countries are the most affected globally. WHO director general Tedros Ghebreyesus says despite the efforts to fight the disease, it continues to affect especially children and pregnant women. Maureen Ojiambo report
