VOA’s Sonny Young joined the Voice of America in 1988 and has traveled all over the world to cover numerous international sporting events, including the Olympics, the World Track & Field Championship, the World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations football tournaments. His ‘Sonny Side of Sports’ radio show became a daily 30-minute program in 2016, and took his love for sports continent-wide. He joined VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart in studio for a look back on some of his most impactful and memorable career moments.
