Medical group achieves a maternal mortality rate of zero in Tanzania refugee camps
Maternal mortality is on the rise in several places around the world. But in Tanzania, Medical Teams International has been able to achieve a rate of zero maternal deaths over the past four years in the Nyarugusu and Nduta refugee camps. Debora Niyeha, the organization’s country director in Tanzania, tells VOA’s Carol Van Dam how her group has been able to accomplish the feat.
