US secretary works with Egypt, other mediators for Gaza cease-fire
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Egypt’s capital, Cairo, where he met with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to discuss steps to work towards a cease-fire in Gaza. This came after the Washington diplomat on Monday spoke with Israeli officials who said they would support proposals to bring a ceasefire in Gaza where Israel is at war with Hamas, a Palestinian militant group.
