A Liberian human rights and justice campaigner says the recently concluded U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit provided an opportunity to appeal to the Biden administration to support the establishment of a war crimes court in Liberia to prosecute alleged crimes committed during the country’s long civil war. Liberia’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) recommended in 2009 the establishment of the court, but since then, successive governments have failed to do so.
