Uganda Parliamentarian Calls for Cabinet Reshuffle
A leading member of Uganda's governing National Resistance Movement (NRM) has called on President Yoweri Museveni to carry out a cabinet reshuffle to rid the administration of corrupt officials. Parliamentarian Felix Adupa Ongwech says the failure to punish caught public officials is making the party unpopular. His remarks come after Minister for Karamoja Affairs Mary Goretti Kitutu was accused of diverting iron sheets meant for disaster victims for the Karamoja Community Empowerment Program. The minister and two others were charged with corruption and conspiracy to commit a felony. For more VOA’s Peter Clottey spoke to Ongwech.
