The Legacy of Fela Kuti
In 2009, the musical “Fela,” based on the legendary Nigerian Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, hit broadway. The musical enjoyed tremendous success, including world tours. For more, VOA’s Heather Maxwell was joined in studio by Sierra Leonean artist Duain Richmond, who plays Fela in the latest production.
