Proud Women Surfers of Africa, "SOMA Surf" is the name of the project developed by a Portuguese and German group with the objective of training women from the locality of Santana in the south of the island of São Tomé. Under this initiative 90 girls from vulnerable families have already exchanged domestic work for surfboards. In April of this year one of them will participate in an international surfing competition in Liberia. Oscar Medeiros reports for VOA.
