Two months after Sudan’s generals and civilian forces signed a framework agreement to restore a civilian transitional government following the 2021 military coup, negotiations have led to consensus on several issues, bringing non-signatory parties and armed groups on board. The United Nations says it is crucial that the process be inclusive. To shed light on Sudan’s political process, VOA’s Nabeel Biao spoke with Joseph Siegel, director of research at the Africa Center for Strategic Studies, who has been tracking and writing about Sudan’s transition and its political process.
