A body monitoring the South Sudan's peace process is warning that the ongoing violence in Upper Nile and Jonglei states runs the risk of derailing implementation of the 2018 revitalized peace agreement unless it’s urgently addressed. The interim chairperson of the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission, or RJMEC, says the government should foster an investigation into the cause of the violence and take action.
