South Africa’s ANC meets ahead of unity government formation
ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula briefed the media Thursday evening following a meeting of the ANC National Executive Council meeting. South Africa’s parliament is expected to convene Friday, the first time since the May 29th presidential and provincial elections. The lawmakers are expected to elect a speaker, deputy speaker and president of South Africa. But first, the ruling African National Congress (ANC) must form a unity government. VOA’s James used excerpts of Mbalula’s briefings, courtesy of ANC media.
