S.Africans React to Walus' Release
South Africa on Wednesday paroled Janusz Walus, a far-right Polish immigrant who in 1993 shot dead anti-apartheid hero Chris Hani, a hugely popular figure and fierce opponent of white rule. The parole decision sparked fierce protests from the ruling African National Congress and its ally in the struggle against apartheid, the South African Communist Party.
