Nigerian Immigrant Makes History After Mayoral Victory

The first Black mayor of Colorado Springs was inaugurated Tuesday in the western U.S. state of Colorado. Yemi Mobolade, an immigrant from Nigeria, is also the city’s first independent mayor. The victory has been described as a political upset in a known conservative stronghold of the Republican party.VOA Hausa’s Haruna Shehu spoke to Nigerians in Colorado for their perspective on Mobolade’s win.
