Nigerian Eco-Designer Takes on Fast Fashion
Second-hand clothes come to countries like Nigeria from across the world in bales, with some of it destined for landfill if not sold. Nigerian designer Uche Aladimma is upcycling those materials for his new eco-fashion label. The materials Aladimma uses are second-hand. The 28-year-old sustainable fashion enthusiast launched his eco-friendly brand Azach in February. His aim is to fight fast fashion in Africa’s most populous country.
