Nigeria Ruling Party Governor Says APC Candidate to Win
A leading member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says Bola Tinubu, the party's presidential candidate, will win Nigeria’s presidential contest on Saturday. Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna state and APC founding member, expressed concern over what he says is the poor implementation of the new currency swap, which aims to replace old naira notes with new ones. El-Rufai also said the poor implementation is causing public frustration and helping the opposition ahead of the election. Tinubu is facing front runners former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the People’s Democratic Party and the Labour Party's Peter Obi. VOA's Peter Clottey spoke with el-Rufai on his expectations of Nigeria’s election and his party the APC.
