Nigeria Businessman, Philanthropist Turns to Politics
Nigerian businessman, philanthropist and founder of Sahara Group, Tonye Cole, is making the move from business to the political arena, running for governor of Rivers State in Nigeria. Cole is contesting the seat against 16 other candidates. Cole, who is also the founder of Tonye Cole Foundation, says his move into politics is derived from his successes in business in Africa. He spoke to VOA’s Vincent Makori on the upcoming elections in Nigeria and the role of business in its political development.
