Fadji Zaouna Maina, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center associate research scientist, spoke to VOA's Esther Githui-Ewart to discuss her time as the first Nigerien-born woman to work for U.S. space program. Maina was listed in the 2020 Forbes 30 under 30 ranking and by New African Magazine as among the 100 most influential Africans. She shares some challenges of her field and words of inspiration for women and girls looking to enter the sciences
