Namibia’s ruling SWAPO party rejects opposition call for poll re-run
In Namibia, the governing Swapo party has rejected calls by the opposition for a re-run of the just-ended general election. It comes after a group of opposition political parties called for the cancellation of the presidential and national assembly elections, citing widespread voter irregularities and rigging. Ambassador Kaire Mbuende, the campaign manager of the SWAPO presidential candidate and incumbent Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, tells VOA's Peter Clottey, the opposition parties have failed to provide proof of their allegations of impropriety during the elections
