Liberian authorities have charged the country’s former chief justice Gloria Musu - Scott and three members of her family with murder, criminal conspiracy, and making false statements to law enforcement officers. Neither Liberian police nor the solicitor general were immediately available for comments. In March, Musu - Scott told VOA that she was concerned the police were trying to make her a scapegoat for an alleged attack by armed men on her home and the stabbing death of her foster daughter. She said that the attack on her home was an attempted assassination. Counselor Augustine Fayia , a member of Musu - Scott’s defense team, tells Daybreak Africa host James Butty, the former chief justice turned herself in to the police Tuesday morning.
